The Five Families of Candle Holders
This collection is organized into five types, each with its own page. Candelabras hold multiple candles on branched arms — the centerpiece format. Hurricane candle holders wrap the flame in a glass shield. Lanterns enclose the candle in a carry-anywhere metal-and-glass case. Pillar candle holders raise thick pillar candles on stands, usually in graduated sets. And candle wall sconces put the flame on the wall. Knowing which family you need cuts the choice from dozens to a handful.
Matching the Holder to the Candle
The candle you burn decides the holder you buy. Wide pillar candles need a flat platform — pillar holders and pillar candelabras. Tealights and votives sit inside enclosed pieces: lanterns, hurricanes, and the votive-cup candelabras in this range. Glass-shielded designs (hurricanes, glass lanterns, hurricane sconces) suit spots with moving air — near doorways, on covered patios — because the shield keeps the flame steady. If you’re unsure, check the product listing: each states its format, and a holder that fits its candle burns cleaner and looks better doing it.
Materials Across the Range: Wood, Brass, Aluminum, Glass, and Ceramic
The collection draws on wood and mango wood, metal, brass, aluminum, glass, ceramic, and resin — which is why one candle-holder page can serve farmhouse tables, Moroccan-styled corners, and modern minimal shelves alike. Style names repeat across the range: Baroque and Vintage scrollwork, Moroccan pierced metal, Tribal patterned wood, and Beaded turned-wood designs. Pick the material that matches the surfaces already in the room — warm wood beside wood furniture, brass with other warm metals, glass and aluminum where the room runs cool — and the holder settles in instead of standing out awkwardly.
Simple Candle Sense
A few habits keep candlelight relaxing instead of risky. Set holders on stable, level surfaces with open space above the flame, keep burning candles away from curtains, cords, and anything that swings, and never leave a lit candle unattended. Enclosed designs — lanterns and hurricanes — add a physical layer between flame and surroundings, which is why they’re the default for homes with kids, pets, or breezy rooms. Battery LED candles work in every holder here and remove the question entirely; the flame look survives, the supervision requirement doesn’t.
