A Wide Open Basin on a Pedestal Foot
The basin is a plain open bowl rather than a slotted insert, which lets bottles lie at an angle or stand upright and leaves room for cans between them. Guests can reach in and take one without disturbing the rest.
Below it, a tapered foot flares to a flat base. The foot raises the basin off the surface and brings the rim closer to standing height, which makes reaching in easier at a buffet than a tub sitting flat on the table.
At 9.6 pounds empty, the bowl has enough weight in the base to stay steady as bottles are lifted in and out.
Engraved Script and a Mottled Gold Finish
Cursive lettering is engraved across the front of the basin, sitting proud of the surface against the plain metal around it.
The bowl is cast aluminium in a warm gold tone, left unpolished so the casting grain shows through. The colour is mottled rather than even, and shifts from piece to piece.
For care, wipe with a soft, damp cloth and towel dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasives and prolonged soaking.
